After a hugely successful Aussie Millions campaign in January this year, the Crown Poker Room is gearing up for the next major event on its annual Poker Calendar – the Joe Hachem Deepstack Series 4.

This Championship series is purposely designed for local players to hone their skills playing Championship style, deepstack events, without the five figure buyins.  Crown has become synonymous with world class Poker events, and with the support of 2005 World Series of Poker Champion Joe Hachem, have found a formula that works.  For Series 4, Jonno Pittock, Director of Poker at Crown, and his team have devised a schedule that is bound to suit players of every budget and skillset.

The first week of the schedule is targeted towards the smaller bankrolled players, with daily $125 No Limit Holdem tournaments with 10k start banks, and nightly $25 rebuy satellites to qualify for the $550 Main Event.  The $125 events are sure to be popular and fields in excess of 200+ players are expected daily.

Crown is known for its innovative tournament concepts, and on Thursday 25 March things will get very interesting when the $340 buyin No Limit Holdem “Accumulator” tournament begins.  The Accumulator is a multi day No Limit Holdem freezeout, with the first day split into 2 Flights.  Using the “Repechage” format, any player eliminated from Flight 1 will have the option of re-joining the tournament for Flight 2, however for the first time ever, any player who has already made it through to Day 2 will also have the option to re-enter via Flight 2 and accumulate more chips for their Day 2 starting stack!  At the start of Day 2, any players who have accumulated chips on Flights 1 & 2 will be able to combine their stacks going into Day 2.

On Sunday 28 February at 2:15pm it’s Heads-Up time, with the $550 buyin 32 player No Limit Holdem event. That night, will also see the Teams Event, but with a little twist.  Teams will still consist of 2 players sharing one stack, but for the first time, players will play different Poker disciplines as one partner plays No Limit Holdem, and the other partner plays Pot Limit Omaha.

Having recently won an 8-Game title during the EPT London event in Sept 2009, it is fitting that the Joe Hachem themed championship has an 8 game event on the schedule.  Rotating from “deuce to seven”, all the HORSE variations, Pot Limit Omaha and No Limit Holdem, the $1,100 Buy-in 8-Game Mixed Event will surely crown the best all-round player of the Championship.

The second week of the Championship has 2 Pot Limit Omaha events, one at $1,100 and one at $230, a $340 No Limit Holdem Terminator event, $1,100 No Limit Holdem 6 max event as well as the $2,200 High Stakes Holdem and of course the $550 No Limit Holdem Main Event.  For this Series, the Main Event has been made a “Re-Repechage”, which means players have the option to re-enter any of the 3 Day 1 Flights, and all 3 Flights will be open to new players as well.  A huge Prizepool is expected to be generated, and another 1,000+ players field is likely for this event.  With a 20k Start bank and generous play time, this is an event not to be missed.
